Olive Garden's Chicken Alfredo
Olive Garden's Chicken Alfredo:
Ingredients:
1 pound fettuccine pasta
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
6 tablespoons butter
2 cups heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
While the pasta is cooking, season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, and coat them in the flour, shaking off any excess.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. When the butter is melted and hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining butter, heavy cream, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk until the butter is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the Parmesan cheese until it's melted and the sauce is thickened.
Slice the cooked chicken into thin strips and add it to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the chicken in the sauce.
Serve the fettuccine on plates and top with the Alfredo sauce and chicken. Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
